The first three seasons of the show were released between 2017 and 2019, with a hiatus brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021. One day before the series returned for its fourth season in 2022, Deadline announced that the fifth season would be the last.
No release date has been given for the final season yet, but it is currently in production in New York City, so a release sometime in early 2023 should be expected.
The first three seasons of “Mrs. Maisel” were all released on a single day in their respective years, aside from the pilot episode, which was released publicly in March 2017 before the rest of the season dropped that November. This was part of Prime Video’s now-defunct annual pilot competition where audiences could vote on what pilot they would like to see taken to series. The fourth season, however, was released on a weekly basis between mid-February and mid-March 2022 with two episodes released each week (via IMDb).
The 10-episode-long fifth season will likely release in the same weekly model. This change from a single-day model to a weekly release happened in part because of shows like “Succession” gaining increased notoriety throughout their release, as executive producers Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino explained to Good Housekeeping.
