The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has finally begun filming for Season 4 after a six-month delay due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Series star, Rachel Brosnahan who stars as Miriam “Midge” Maisel, shared a delightful photo of herself protected by a safety bubble on the show’s set.
Brosnahan has been reluctant to share any details about the upcoming season except for the fashion. “I have absolutely no idea what’s happening,” she told People. “… I haven’t seen a script. I haven’t seen anything.”
However, that hasn’t stopped fans from coming up with all kinds of fan theories about Season 4.
Season 3 of ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ ended with a shocker
The Season 3 finale of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel ended with a bang. Midge was set to go on an international tour with soul singer Shy Baldwin. However, after an opening set at the Apollo where she alluded to Shy’s personal life, she was fired from the show, leaving her devastated.
Now that she is set to remain in New York, she’s going to find out some even more bad news. Though she’s entrusted her manager Susie (Alex Borstein) with her wages and had hoped to purchase her old apartment from her ex-husband Joel’s (Michael Zegen) parents, she’s soon going to discover that Susie has gambled all of her hard-earned money away.
Fans are now speculating how this will all play out in Season 4.

Midge might have to move in with Joel
With no apartment of her own and no money to access, some fans speculate that Midge will have to move in with Joel to co-parent her children. However, this might not be the worst thing in the world. After all, Joel has just opened the Button Club, which could prove to be a home base for Midge until she gets her next chance to head out on the road.
Mostly, though, we’re hoping that Midge’s dapper ex-boyfriend, Dr. Benjamin Ettenberg ( Zachary Levi), will be appearing once again. Thus far, however, it appears that Joel is getting the love interest in Season 4. Stephanie Hsu, who guest-starred in Season 3 as Mei Lin, is set to reprise her role.
Midge is going to cut ties with Susie
As her best friend, manager, and confidant, Midge is going to be devastated when she realizes Susie has squandered her earnings. To be honest, we don’t see the women coming back from this. In fact, Shy Baldwin’s manager Reggie (Sterling K Brown) warned Susie that there would be one day when Midge left her behind.
“One day, you’ll be in my shoes.” Reggie told her. With Midge devastated about losing out on tour and with no money in her pocket because of Susie, we can’t see her easily forgiving her friends for this.
Lenny Bruce and Midge might finally get together
Since Season 1, Midge has always had a flirtatious tension with fellow comedian Lenny Bruce (Luke Kirby). The pair showcased their tantalizing chemistry during one night in Las Vegas, but it never expanded. Now, Kirby is set to return to the role.
“We never intended for Lenny to be as important as he is,” creator Amy Sherman-Palladino admitted during a recent Woodstock Film Festival virtual panel discussion (moderated by yours truly). “He’s only been in [a couple] episodes a season. It’s weird because he’s such a presence. He’s going to be in a little bit more [in Season 4], which is great.”
She added, “What I love about [Lenny] is that he respects [Midge] as a comedian,” she added. “He doesn’t look at her as a conquest. I think that’s why people are responding to that relationship.”
